Sri lankan Parippu Curry / Lentil Curry
Parippu curry is one of the most popular dishes in Sri Lanka. Parippu curry is a dish that cannot be missed on any dining table.

- 1 cup Parippu / Lentil
- ½ Medium Onion sliced
- 4 Garlic cloves sliced
- ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
- ½ tsp Raw Curry Powder
- ½ tsp Chili Powder
- 5 Curry Leaves
- 1 Small cinnamon sticks
- 1 cup Coconut milk
- ½ cup Water
- Salt By taste
To Temper The Lentil Curry
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 2 Dry red chilies
- 2 Garlic cloves
- ½ Medium Onion
- 3 Curry Leaves
Wash Parippu / lentils properly a few times.
1 cup Parippu / Lentil
Place it in a medium-size bowl
Now add all the spices together with onion, curry leaves, and garlic cloves for the curry.
½ Medium Onion, 4 Garlic cloves, ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder, ½ tsp Raw Curry Powder, ½ tsp Chili Powder, 1 Small cinnamon sticks, 5 Curry Leaves
Then add water and mix it well.
½ cup Water
Bring to the boil Simmer and cook
Stirring occasionally until the lentils are boiled.
Once lentils are cooked add coconut milk and bring it to boil again.

When lentils are cooked transfer them to another bowl.
To Temper The Lentil Curry
Heat oil in a bowl
2 tbsp Oil
Add onion, garlic, and curry leaves and fry it for 5-10 minutes.
2 Garlic cloves, 3 Curry Leaves, ½ Medium Onion
Then add 2 dried red chilies and fry

Finally, add the Parippu / lentil curry. mix well.
Taste for salt.
