History of Potato Soup

Potato soup was first created in the 18th century in the Netherlands and was made from boiled potatoes and either beef or lamb. Potatoes were first domesticated in the Andes of South America about 10,000 years ago. They were brought to Europe by the Spanish in the 1500s and were first grown in the Netherlands.

How to make potato soup

  1. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the pan and when it melts add the chopped garlic.
  2. Now add some chopped potatoes to this.
  3. Add about 2 more tablespoons of butter.
  4. Now add 1 cup of water, cover, and bring to a boil.
  5. Make sure it boils well in about 10 minutes. When it boils well, take it and blend it.
  6. Add some milk and blend well.
  7. Now put this in the pan and add some more milk and stir well over low heat.
  8. Add about 2 tablespoons of butter to this.
  9. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Add all the milk and stir.
  11. Peel a squash, grate it and squeeze the juice.
