Prawn Curry is one of the most popular rich dishes in Asian countries. It is called rich food because it is slightly more expensive than most other seafood. These ingredients are used to make prawn season. 500 grams of well-cleaned and washed prawns, 1 Teaspoon salt, 1 Teaspoon black pepper powder, and 1/2 Teaspoon turmeric powder are used.

  • 1 Tablespoon of oil
  • 8 curry leaves
  • 4 pandan leaves
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 tomato (chopped)
  • 1 green chili
  • 1 red chili (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 Tablespoon coriander leaves (chopped)

Let’s make this delicious Prawn Curry using the above ingredients.

To season the prawns

  • Put the cleaned prawns in a bowl and add salt, turmeric powder, and black pepper powder to it. (500 g Prawns,1 tsp Salt,1 tsp Black pepper,½ tsp Turmeric Powder)
  • Mix this well. Cover with polythene for about 20 minutes to season.

For the curry

  • Put a pan on the stove and add oil and heat it over medium. (1 tbsp Oil)
  • After the oil is heated, add curry leaves, pandan leaves (Rampe leaves), cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, dried chili, and fenugreek seeds into the pan and give it a little stir. (8 Curry Leaves, 4 Rampe leaves (Pandanusamaryllifolius ), 1 Small cinnamon stick, 1 tsp Fenugreek Seeds, 3 Dried chili pods, 4 Cardamom Pods)
  • Now add garlic, onion, and ginger into the pan and saute for about 2 minutes. (1 Onion, 4 Garlic cloves, 1 tsp Ginger)
  • Add curry powder and chili powder mix well and fry for about 2 minutes (Do not burn the spices. Fry on low flame). Add tomato and cook for about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. (1 tsp Curry Powder, 1½ tsp Chili Powder, 1 Chopped Tomatoes)
  • Then add prawns into the pan and fry for about 3 minutes turning occasionally. Now it’s time to add green and red chilies to the saucepan, stirring well. Pour coconut milk and keep cooking for about 7 minutes while stirring. Add salt to taste. (1 Green Chili, 1 Red Chili, 1½ cup Coconut milk, 1 tsp Salt)
  • Once cooked turn off the heat & set aside. Then add lemon juice and coriander leaves into the curry & stir well. (1 tsp Lemon Juice, 1 tbsp Coriander leaves)

Ingredients
