It can be prepared in various ways while making it. Sambol is made quite spicy hot because we in Sri Lanka eat a little bit of chili. Pepper powder can also be added to this. Then the taste and hotness will increase.

This sambal is often served with breakfast. For example, in Sri Lanka, we can eat this with food like rice, bread, and Idiappa(string hoppers). This Easy Sambol is one of the easiest recipes that you can make quickly at home.

Ingredients for making Pol Sambol.

Ingredients required to make Pol Sambol are Grated Coconut, Shallot, Chili Flakes, Chili Powder, Salt, and Lime Juice. In addition, we use Tabasco pepper, Maldives fish flakes, and chopped tomatoes. These three races are not necessarily virtual. But using these can increase the taste even more.

Here are the ingredients with the quantities.

  • 1½ cup grated coconut Fresh shredded coconut
  • 1 shallot chopped 4 Asian shallots
  • 2 tsp Chili Flakes
  • ½ tsp Chili Powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Lime Juice
  • 3-4 Tabasco pepper For those who like spicy
  • 2 tsp Maldive fish flakes
  • 2 tsp chopped tomatoes

How to make Sri Lankan Pol Sambol

First put Chili Flakes, Chili Powder, and Salt, in the mortar. Grind these three races well. Add chopped shallots. Grind the mixture a little (Avoid crushing too much after adding shallots). Add Maldive fish flakes, Tabasco pepper, and chopped tomatoes. Now add your shredded coconut to the mortar. Grind the mixture well. Now add Lime Juice to this according to taste. Now serve Sambol.

Ingredients
  

  • cup grated coconut Fresh shredded coconut
  • 1 shallot chopped 4 Asian shallots
  • 2 tsp Chili Flakes
  • ½ tsp Chili Powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Lime Juice
  • 3-4 Tabasco pepper For those who like spicy
  • 2 tsp Maldive fish flakes
  • 2 tsp chopped tomatoes

Instructions
 

  • Add chili flakes, chili powder, and salt to the mortar and pestle. pound it to make a coarse powder. Salt makes it easier to grind.
    2 tsp Chili Flakes, ½ tsp Chili Powder, ½ tsp Salt
  • Then add chopped shallots
    1 shallot chopped
  • Add Maldive fish flakes, Tabasco pepper, and chopped tomatoes.
    3-4 Tabasco pepper, 2 tsp chopped tomatoes, 2 tsp Maldive fish flakes
  • Now add your shredded coconut to the mortar and pestle and pound again to mix.
    1½ cup grated coconut
  • Add lime juice. (When adding lime juice, add according to taste.)
    2 tsp Lime Juice
  • Mix well and eat.

Notes

  • Avoid crushing too much after adding shallots.
